Workout for Wednesday, August 13, 2008

I don't know what is going on with me, but I have soooo much energy today. I had three meetings in one of our satellite offices, and they all were extremely positive. I came home and did a some more office work until 4:30, then I started cleaning the house.

I scrubbed toilets, washed bathroom rugs, mopped the master bathroom and scoured the sink, washed/changed the sheets, vacuumed the downstairs, cleaned furniture (cat hair central), weeded our landscaping beds, and got rid of our outside cobwebs. On top of that, I made a good supper for DH and me, balanced the checkbook, and had a great workout.

I did talk to my mom while I was making supper, and she said my dad has been doing really pretty well for the last couple of days, so that is a huge relief to me.

It's now 9:30, and I feel like I'll be able to sleep good tonight.

I know I have a rough day ahead of me, but that's okay. I have a meeting at lunch time to plan a termination (which will take place late tomorrow afternoon), and I also have a separate disciplinary meeting with another person regarding their (lack of) performance. Worst, I have to confront another person about the fact that they are having a less-than-platonic relationship with their supervisor (the supervisor has already been confronted and conveniently denies it). Then, the termination of the first person takes place. Ugh. But that's all in a day's work, I guess.

Late Lunch (2:00 p.m.) - Cheesecake Factory w/DH: several small pieces sourdough bread, split Grande Factory Burrito w/DH, split chocolate coconut cream cheesecake w/DH too.

Afternoon/Evening: 1 serving vitamin water, 4 chocolate peanut clusters

Okay, so it's Memorial Day. We did all of our family stuff Saturday and Sunday, and now we are back in our own house detoxing. As much as we love our families, it's dysfunction junction all of the way! I'm always happy to get back to the sanity of my own home.

9:00 a.m.
Breakfast at the In Law's House: 1 whole wheat waffle w/syrup, couple pieces of bacon, small glass OJ

1:00 p.m.(ish) 2 no-bake cookies

4:15 p.m. Small bowl of Spagettios w/franks, 1 mini bagel w/whipped cream cheese, 5 Hershey caramel kisses.

5:00 p.m. 1 Fiber One Bar

8:45 p.m. Late dinner w/DH on deck: About 2/3 of a thin crust vegetarian pizza, 3 Dove chocolate caramels

Well, it was Saturday, so I could sleep in! I slept until 8:30 a.m.

9:00 a.m.
1 Belgium waffle w/syrup, small glass OJ

1:45 p.m. Ruby Tuesday's w/DH: Salad from salad bar (various lettuce and veggies, shredded cheese, bacon bits, croutons, ranch dressing), 2 mini burgers, French fries (about 3/4's the serving), water

4:00 p.m. Very small fudge brownie w/ small glass 2% milk

5:00 p.m.
2 root beer suck candies

7:00 p.m. Dish of lowfat chocolate chip mint ice cream (about 3/4 cup)

9:15 p.m. 1 and 1/2 large "cereal" bowls of buttered/salted popcorn, 1/2 can regular Coke (6 oz.)

WORKOUT: The FIRM Aerobic Body Shaping (TransFIRMer series) with Allie (1 hour)
Walk to/from Ruby Tuesday's via bike trail (1 hour, total)

WORKOUT: One hour walk in Bedford reservation (7,800 steps) + The FIRM Better Body and Buns (Tri-Trainer)

4:00 p.m. Ruby Tuesdays w/DH: Salad from the salad bar (mixed greens, other veggies, shredded cheese, bacon bits, ranch dressing, croƻtons, and a little bit Waldorf salad) 2 chicken quesadilla (sp?) triangles, one and a half "mini burgers"(with American cheese, onion straws, mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, and pickle), French fries (about 3/4's of the serving)

6:45 p.m. 4 Dove chocolates

9:00 p.m. 2 root beer suck candies

3:30 p.m. Organic hamburger on wheat bun, handful of BBQ baked chips, 3 Dove chocolates

4:30 p.m. 1 rootbeer barrel suck candy

5:30 p.m. 3 homemade chocolate chip cookies, small glass 2% milk

10:00 p.m. Air-popped popcorn w/ little bit real butter, sea salt, & garlic powder (2 large cereal bowls), 1 can regular Coke

WORKOUT: The FIRM Total Body Shaping Mix - I forgot what an awesome workout this is. It's a little over an hour, but the time does seem to go by pretty quickly. I love this era of The Firm. I think it's my favorite. I do love the Classics, but some of them have a "huh?" factor....like some of the FitPrimes. It's like you are wondering why you are doing this particular movement. And I had a really hard time with the Firm after Goodtimes took over. That's not to say that they didn't make some good workouts (there are several I really like). It's just that a lot of the magic was gone. TBSM is a great compilation of classic BBH stuff without a lot of the "huh?" factor.

8:45 p.m. 3 mini York Peppermint Patties

Ummmm....not so good today!

9:30 a.m. 1 chocolate covered donut, 1/2 glazed donut (and they weren't even good. They were Entemann's...why bother?)

3:15 p.m. Wendy's w/DH (on our way to the second funeral): Spicy Chicken sandwich w/mayo, small fries, water

5:30 p.m. Three (yes, three!) homemade chocolate chip cookies, small glass 2% mil

Even though today's eating would have been considered a big, fat NO-NO, I can almost guarantee that I went through way more calories on an average day before I started blogging. Those were "mindless" eating days.

2:30 p.m. Buca Di Beppo with DH: 2 pieces foccocia bread, mixed greens salad w/ side of Italian dressing, 1 small piece lemon butter chicken w/capers, small serving spaghetti w/marinara

8:30 p.m. About 3/4 cup lowfat mint chip ice cream

WORKOUT: The Firm Cardio Split 1 - great workout. I did have to modify some of the high impact, but I got through all of it really well.

11:00 a.m. In meeting w/Judy: 5 tiny pretzel sticks, 5 Doritos chips, 10 cashews

2:00 p.m. 5 Rolos candies

5:45 p.m. 2 pieces Rascal House pepperoni pizza, small glass 2% milk w/Hershey syrup, 2 mint-chocolate covered Oreo cookies

9:15 p.m. Organic pudding made w/whole raw milk

Ummm....yeah, the diet wasn't too great today. It wasn't that I ate too much....it was that I ate crap. But I feel great!

WORKOUT: The Firm Complete Body Shaping w/Christa Riley (Body Sculpting System 3) - My God, I remember this workout being bad, but I forgot how bad. Let me re-phrase: I actually think this could be a decent workout, but there's some really disturbing things about it. First, Christa and Pam look like they came out of concentration camps. Truly. I can't even look at them. Second, Christa's cuing sucks. Third, you can barely hear her over the music. Fourth, they will start a move and not show the beginner modifications. Now, I'm over the beginner stage, but I still like to see what Libby (the modifier) is doing....especially for the high impact moves. I usually do modify those. Fifth, they get you started on a sequence, but it only lasts a little bit...there aren't nearly enough reps. Last, when they put their boxes to the side instead of straight-on, it's hard to figure out what leg they are on.

12:15 p.m. 1 medium-sized bagel w/whipped cream cheese, 4 Dove chocolates

5:10 p.m. 1 mint-covered Oreo (damn things are addicting!)
10:15 p.m. (yes, that is the right time!) 2 pieces Rascal House pepperoni pizza
