I'm a childfree by choice 30-something female living in the Northeastern/slightly Midwestern part of the US. I'm happily married (my husband and I are DINKS - Dual Income, No Kids), am owned by a cat, and have various interests and hobbies. I've started this blog for the purpose of tracking my workouts, recipes, travels, work experiences, and thoughts about life (including the childfree aspect).

Workout for Thursday, August 14, 2008
Well, despite the many unsavory things I had to be involved with today, the day went as well as could be expected.
The termination went fine. The employee was not surprised, and he left without any drama. The girl having the "very, very, very close" relationship with her boss was cooperative (although of course "nothing is going on.") And I didn't have to have the disciplinary meeting with the other employee as his supervisor said he would talk with him instead of getting me involved this time. The rest of the day was busy, but non-eventful. Still, these are the kind of days that exhaust me.
So tonight I just wanted to get outside a clear my head. DH and I went to the nearby National Park (CVNP), and took an hour long walk in the woods. It such a great way to relieve stress and wind down. I love that we live so close to such a beautiful place. The picture above is of one of the overlooks in the fall.

I am curious about the girl and the supervisor having the "very close" relationship. Why is it a problem? It sounds like they are mutually interested. Does your company have rules against supervisors and staff being romantically involved?
What happens in these cases is unease with the rest of the staff. As an example, she was recently promoted. People then will discuss was it because she deserved it from her hard work, or did she get the position in another way. In addition, she is not on good terms with many of the other staff. The supervisor has become a lot harder on those individuals lately. It just makes for a really bad situation.
